    ACCESS! is a regional enterprise development and sales promotion initiative built around a network of African partners.  It aims at improving international trade support services for women to help them increase their export capacity and profile their successes on international and regional markets. 

  • COMESA 

    The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa has acknowledged and recognized the need to mainstream gender in all its regional activities in order to ensure that both females and males equitably participate in and benefit from regional development. >  

    ECCAS 

    The Economic Community of Central African States has been very supportive of the ACCESS! programme and will continue to endeavour export development activities for businesswomen in the region.  >  

    ECOWAS 

    The Economic Community of West African States is consistently conscious of women’s economic empowerment as key to development, and has thus repositioned gender issues for inclusion into its frameworks and initiatives. >   

    SADC 

    The Southern African Development Community’s Council of Ministers approved the establishment of a policy framework for mainstreaming gender in all its activities and for strengthening the efforts by member states to achieve gender equality. >  

    EAC 

    The East African Community has addressed gender and community development issues in several international, regional and national fora in an effort to provide strategies and possible actions to mainstream gender in development. >
